Flexible Instrumentation
We currently have three orchestrations available: The Pirates of Penzance, H.M.S. Pinafore, and The Gondoliers. The required number of musicians is flexible.
Including as many string players as possible is always desirable. However, these arrangements incorporate doubling of string lines in the woodwinds and French horn to create a full sound with one string player on a part (Vln 1, Vln. 2, Vla., Vc., Cb.)
Conductor's scores
There is a full conductor's score available for The Pirates of Penzance.
For H.M.S. Pinafore and The Gondoliers, the music director conducts from the G. Schirmer piano/vocal book, which is fully compatible with our orchestrations. The piano/vocal book is not included with the rental.
Rental Fees
The Pirates of Penzance with full conductor's score: $180.00 per month for the complete set of instrumental books and full conductor's score, plus shipping and handling fees. There is a $300.00 refundable deposit required.
H.M.S. Pinafore or Gondoliers: $160.00 per month for the complete set of instrumental books, plus shipping and handling fees. There is a $200.00 refundable deposit required.

The Pirates of Penzance
Orchestrated for 13-14 musicians (keyboard percussion optional), but can be reduced further by adding a pianist.
Note: The Pirates of Penzance orchestration also sounds complete with: Piano, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet 1, Clarinet 2, Horn in F, Bassoon, Bass, and Percussion, although this will result in more of a wind ensemble than orchestral sound.
Alternate instrumentation and transpositions for The Pirates of Penzance
For example, if you need the French horn part adapted for trombone or the bassoon part transcribed for bass clarinet we can do that for you. If you need a song transposed, we can also do that. (Additional fees apply.)
H.M.S. Pinafore
Orchestrated for 12 musicians, but can be reduced further by adding a pianist.
Note: The H.M.S. Pinafore orchestration also sounds complete with: Piano, Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn in F, Bassoon, Bass, and Percussion, although this will result in more of a wind ensemble than orchestral sound.

Orchestrated for 10 musicians, but can be reduced further by adding a pianist.
If you have fewer than 10 musicians, we recommend starting with piano and adding instruments in the following order: Flute, Clarinet or Violin 1, Oboe, Trumpet, Bass, Horn in F, Bassoon or Cello, Violin 2, Viola. We recommend using the G. Schirmer piano book, which is 100% compatible with this arrangement. Piano book not included.
